Summer catch up from
NowYoga
Dear friends ,
I hope you are all finding time to enjoy the summer,
all be it very hot and dry.
We have had to adapt accordingly to this climate change affecting our weather.
making adjustments where we can ....
We must continue to learn, adapt & change.
As individuals, we can only do our best.
That sometimes includes rethinking what we believed to be true.
When I found yoga I felt like I'd found my thing!
it was everything I needed.
Fast forward 13 years after my first training, so much has changed.
The science and language used around yoga is evolving, just as it should.
I have kept up with new findings the best I can.
We are constantly bombarded by new information, new technology to help us live well...
It's a challenge to do all the right things.
Eat this, drink this, take this supplement.
For me, Now it's time to listen within, to everything I've learnt.
I do my best.... it's messy sometimes!
I walk in nature everyday up hill if possible.
I lift weights to stay strong a few times a week.
The beautiful ancient practice we call yoga with its traditions, philosophy, and complete embodiment has given me so much, not just physically, for me it's a spiritual connection to life, breath & kindness.
So yes, we do stretch, twist, balance and flex which is valuable, but that's not all it is....
Moving in ways we don't throughout the day is necessary for keeping us mobile.
The feeling of being in your body, not in your head, is without question calming.
We are all different, in our bodies, our minds and nervous systems.
Stretching and balancing can feel good and lead us into a deep relaxation.
Here's why we should also strength train
and why it compliments yoga practice.
*Feeling stronger supports us through full range of motion.
*Building confidence and stability.
*It may improve co-ordination and proprioception .
*Getting stronger improves mobility and flexibility.
This is some of the study I have been doing so far this summer.
I can't wait to share with you.
I will be coming back
:on line Tuesday 1st September 45 min yoga 6pm GMT.
:on line Wednesday 2nd September 60 min. yoga 6.30pm GMT.
At Failand Village Hall on Monday 7th September 9.30am
:on line Stay strong Monday 7th September 6pm GMT.

My intention.
I want to share yoga with everyone who wants to connect to their body, feel the strength, flexibility, and mobility..
To take Time to listen, to notice, to sense, not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
As we move with focused intention of equal effort and ease. it allows us to make space not just on our joints! but perhaps in our minds, without fear, freeing up cluttered thoughts to let the light come in....!
The consistent practice of coming together to move, breath and rest is a collective energy...be it on line or in person.
I will continue to share yoga for as long as you show up.
Practice kindness. Jo x
